We communicated via email and scheduled a date and went over pricing. They provided insurance for an additional fee, which I felt was reasonable and I purchased. They gave their time frame a few days before the actual move date. They arrived on time within the time frame with a few people and the move went smooth. They took the legs off of the piano and loaded it into their big truck. I met them at the destination and they made sure to set the piano in the perfect spot. Professional, courteous, careful, kind - John, Cherie, and the team who moved our heavy upright piano were amazing! The price was right for a  move that involved several flights of stairs. They protected not only the family heirloom piano, but the walls, banister, artwork, etc. They were efficient and even managed to smile in spite of the record heat. Don't waste your time hiring anybody else! Just go with Golden Gate. They know what they're doing. I initially hired a different piano moving company to move my 7' Mason & Hamlin BB (1020lbs!) into my house with a very tricky entrance, with stairs and a 90-degree turn through the door. The first company struggled and couldn't do it with four men, but I still had to pay them for trying. Two days later, Golden Gate successfully got it into the house... with only three men and in half the time! They moved smoothly and confidently, and left no damage to the piano or the house. I had Golden Gate Moving come out to my house to do some furniture moves between floors. This includes moving a couple sofas, swapping out a washer/dryer set, as well as some bookshelves. They not only packed the books, but also did a great job connecting our washer/dryer. This is the 3rd time I've used Golden Gate Moving, and they are my go-to. In the past, we also had them move an upright piano into our 2nd story flat (this required the use of a crane, navigating a tangle of overhead power lines, with the piano coming through the window).
